Lay-Led Congregation: The PEACE Fellowship
PEACE Fellowship is a lay-led Unitarian Universalist (UU) congregation sustained by its members rather than by an ordained minister. Our congregation embodies the UU spirit of shared leadership, democracy, and mutual care — showing that ministry belongs to everyone, not just clergy.
Shared Ministry
Everyone has a role in shaping worship, programs, and community life. Members plan services, lead reflections, organize music, and bring their talents and passions to the pulpit and beyond. This creates a deep sense of ownership and connection.
Diverse Voices
Without a single ministerial voice, the pulpit becomes open to many perspectives — from members, guest speakers, and community leaders. This variety reflects the UU principle of seeking truth from many sources and honoring each person’s journey.
Strong Community Bonds
Our lay-led congregation has been built through care and cooperation. Members support one another through life’s ups and downs, making the community truly interdependent.
Faith in Action
Our congregation lives its values of equality, compassion, and justice. We put them into practice through shared leadership and inclusive decision-making.
In a lay-led UU congregation, everyone’s gifts matter. The shared work of creating worship and community becomes an expression of the living faith that Unitarian Universalism celebrates.
