Justice and Inclusion

Living Our Faith in the World

Justice and inclusion are at the very core of what it means to be part of a Unitarian Universalist (UU) church. They aren’t just values we talk about — they’re how we live out our faith in the world and within our community.

Justice: Love in Action

For UUs, justice is love made visible. We believe every person deserves dignity, safety, and opportunity. This means standing up for equality, protecting the environment, and working to end systems of oppression. Whether through advocacy, service, or community partnerships, UU congregations strive to build a world that reflects compassion and fairness for all.

Inclusion: Welcoming Every Voice

Inclusion means truly welcoming everyone — across race, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, age, and background. We know that our strength comes from diversity, and that each person’s story enriches our shared journey. UU churches work to create spaces where people feel seen, respected, and celebrated for who they are.

Living Our Principles

Justice and inclusion aren’t just ideals — they’re woven into UU principles, especially the belief in the inherent worth and dignity of every person and our commitment to the interdependent web of all existence.

Together, these values guide how we worship, how we care for one another, and how we move through the world — with open hearts and a shared vision of a more loving, just, and inclusive community.
