The Healing Place Rehabilitation Center, Raleigh -
UUPF has created a partnership with The Healing Place, a rehabilitation center for women with drug and alcohol abuse problems.  We will be participating in projects where labor is needed as well as projects to raise money for some of their activities.

Triangle Impact -
UUPF  participates in projects sponsored by Triangle Impact, an organization that coordinates volunteer projects in the triangle area.  We worked with other volunteers raking and spreading mulch as part of an effort to renovate Chavis Park in Southeast Raleigh.

KIVA Loan Program
UUPF participates in the Kiva loan program, a international micro-lending organization that allows individuals to lend directly to entrepreneurs in the developing world.  Our $500-Kiva loan to a Cambodian woman who owns a grocery stand was repaid in full.  This year, UUPF has loaned $500 to a 53-year old Cambodian widow who sells mangos in the local food market.  Our congregation is also a member of the Unitarian Universalist KIVA Lending Team, which has collectively made over 150 loans totaling more than $5,000.

Heifer International -
UUPF makes a contribution to Heifer International, which uses the money to provide livestock, such as chickens, cows, sheep and goats to people in need around the world.  These gifts make it possible for families to receive training in animal care and sustainable agriculture, and lift themselves out of poverty.
